Sometimes a car can start looking sorry for its self, even with a clean. Paint fades and small scuffs and marks to the lacquer can build up over time making the car look not as shiny as it once had.
Smarter Cars uses a variety of special grade compounds and polishes to remove those marks and buff that shine up again. The result can be pretty amazing and the polish will keep the car protected against the elements for a while longer.
Plastic headlights are becoming the norm and unfortunately they are often forgotten about when cleaning cars. UV light from the sun can often cause them to slowly fade and become yellow, giving a fog-like look. Eventually this will not only effect your night-time visibility from your lights, but can even fail its M.O.T. However these lights can often be buffed up with special compounds and polished to give a nice shiny surface again.
Sometimes when buying a car the previous owner may have left an old sticker on it, perhaps symbolising where they are from or a fan club sticker etc.
Luckily these stickers can be quickly removed and the sticky residue cleaned up. Sometimes if the sticker has been left on for a long time there is a ghostly outline left behind. With a proper cutting compound this ghosting can be reduced or removed completely.
Stone chips can happen anywhere and hitting an aluminium window trim can cause the chip to easily rust and bubble up.
Many alloy wheels can be repaired by keeping the repair area local. However, there does come a time when a wheel is so badly scuffed all around that its easier to refurbish the whole wheel. In this example the wheel had certainly seen better days.
The wheel is cleaned up and rubbed down with the scuffs being sanded out, sometime a little filler is added to the worst scuffs.
Next the wheel is primed and rubbed down a few times, this removes any scratches and blemishes. Eventually the wheel will be ready for a colour coat.
Once the colour has been sprayed on and inspected from all angles the lacquer is sprayed on. This will be a high quality 2k lacquer to help give the wheel a high quality shine with decent depth.
In this repair the wing mirror casing was fine, but the plastic by the window was flaking away. The plastic was rubbed down, primed and sprayed black using specialist paints designed for plastic.
Black plastic bumpers can also be repaired, in this example the bumper is really deteriorating, it really lets an other wise nice looking car down. Using specialist paints the bumper is restored to its original look.
Stone chips and dents left untreated can lead to a build up of rust. This will eventually spread, making a rusty scab. Smarter Cars can repair the effected area and blend the colour in.
They may look good when new, but after many years stickers can fade, break apart, crack and generally just look tatty. Smarter Cars can remove these and polish up afterwards making the car look a lot smarter again.
